Mainframe and Microcomputer

The difference between a mainframe and microcomputer is that a mainframe is room-sized machines with price tags to match. Banks and airlines still use mainframes for big computing jobs. A Microcomputer is pretty much a PC--Personnel Computer. PCs is a computer which is designed to be used by one person at a time as a tool for enhancing productivity, creativity, or communication. They are in offices, factories, homes, schools, and pretty much everywhere else. They can be classified as desktop computers, workstations, or laptop computers. PCs have taken many tasks that were originally performed by larger computers. With the rise of PCs, users gained a lot more control over their computing environments.
